In this high-tech but sluggish economy, tackle manufacturers are both downsizing and upgrading their new baits. It’s an established fact that many bass lures will catch crappie, but this year it seems more companies than ever before are introducing crossover lures that can be used to target both bass and crappie. Other manufacturers are updating their current crappie lures with new features that are more than just for looks. Also, when you consider that three established tackle companies whose traditional focus is bass have introduced a new line of baits specifically for crappie, it seems that crappie angling in 2011 is receiving a lot more attention and respect.
