June and July can be fickle months on most bass waters. The spring-to-summer transition is a frustrating period for many anglers. A month or so earlier, most bass were easily found by fishing shallow shoreline areas. As summer progresses, most hold in tight schools near deep-water cover and structure. During the post-spawn transition, however, anglers have a tough time predicting where bass will be.
