“If drop-shotting is not included in your arsenal, you are missing out on the opportunity to significantly improve your bass catch,” claims professional angler Joe Balog.
As a tournament competitor and guide on Lake Erie, Balog has included drop-shotting in his repertoire since the early 1990s.
“Drop-shotting is a phenomenal technique, but you must apply it under the right conditions,” says Bassmaster Elite angler Edwin Evers.
Although better known for power-fishing than finesse, Evers certainly recognizes the right conditions for drop-shotting, as this method contributed to his win in the 2007 Elite event on Lake Erie and a second-place finish in an event at Table Rock Lake.
While Bryan Stuyvesant isn’t a touring pro angler, he is a drop-shotting aficionado.
