Want to start an argument?
Just put a bunch of otherwise amiable people in the same room and
mention the topic of global warming. Many are convinced that the temperature
of the earth is rising, and that this spells disastrous consequences
for our planet. To back up their claims, they cite such sources as former
Vice President Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” as demonstrating
beyond the shadow of a doubt that global warming is real, and
that carbon emissions caused by humans are primarily to blame for it.
Others scoff at the notion of global warming, believing instead that temperature
fluctuations are a normal part of the natural weather cycle.
