In a perfect world, bass anglers would launch their boats and then head straight for a honeyhole that’s chock full of lunkers. Once they had sore-mouthed every fish in that spot, they’d run to another hole and then another, catching big bass in rapid-fire succession all day long. But in the real world, locating and catching bass doesn’t happen that easily. Bass fishermen, especially those who frequent sprawling lakes and reservoirs, must often comb wide expanses of water before getting that first bite. Bass fishing, in other words, often seems more like bass searching.
