While the angling styles of the top pros on the cast-for-cash circuit may range from fast-paced and aggressive to painstakingly slow and deliberate, these experts have one thing in common — an awareness that a middle-of-the-pack tournament finish isn’t going to do much to advance their value to their sponsors, their visibility in the media or their bank accounts.
“There are so many great anglers on the national bass tour today, merely weighing in a limit of keepers every day usually isn’t good enough,” one pro commented. “In order to bust out of the pack and climb into the big money, you’ve got to score some lunker bass, and you usually won’t do that by staying with the same lures and tactics that are putting keepers in your boat.”
